Five sentence fiction - The thief

The peal of the  doorbell brought about a wave of enthusiasm in the house; little Omi  dashed to the door to collect the parcel, pay the bill and rush back inside  to lay down the  favoured fare on the dining table.
Within a second, the cover of the box flew open, and there, snug in its own warmth, lay  the  divinely cheesy, pepperoni pizza; the aroma that drifted out made Omi drool a gallon!
However, hands had to be washed before eating, which, reluctantly, the little one agreed to.
A pair of grey eyes  furtively watched  the scene unfold from behind the computer, a nose took in the wafting aroma, and  a paw crept from underneath the screen, reached for the box, groped its way around to find the largest piece, slid it out of the box towards its hiding place and made a run for it!
Well,  if the little human couldn't share these yummies with him, Garfield knew better ways to get what he wanted!

*Recently I saw a video on Facebook showing a cat stealing a piece of pizza from its hiding place behind the computer.  The above post written for Five Sentence Fiction, with the prompt, 'Thief', took its inspiration from that kitty! :)
